Great dive last Sunday

I want to thank Juan (aka "Number Juan") for taking us on the minesweeper on Sunday. I never expected to see 11 eagle rays and a bull shark. Great service especially with instructions concerning the dive briefing. The next time I come to the Yucatan i will dive with WetSet.

We are so glad that we found you and your dive operation. We were searching the web looking for a local dive operator close to the

El Dorado Royal, after reading some of the reviews and forums on your site, I thought that your operation seemed to good to be true. After a brief email correspondence with you, I looked no further and planned to come find you once we arrived.

A short cab ride from the resort into Puerto Morelos, I stumbled across your shop. After our initial meeting that morning and our discussions about the diving, sharing your experience and mine, we made our fist dive. I was impressed with your attention to detail in the pre-dive debriefing. I was blown away by our first deep dive, the current was moving at pretty fast pace and it was a rush to ride that current, as we blew past a few nurse sharks,a lemon and a marlin.

Our 2nd dive at Albert's Reef was shallow dive with relatively good vis, considering the swells above. It was nice to get in the bottom time we did (67 min) with still loads of air left.

Next day Joanne (mi esposa) joined us and William took us out for a shallow dive at Cabazas Grand (lots of huge brain coral formations). Jo had not been diving since last year and was a bit nervous. William was an excellent dive-master/instructor and explained all the details of the dive to her and a de-briefing that made Joanne very comfortable. With a slight issue on entry to the water, William was able to assist Joanne and she had no issues on the decent or the rest of the dive.

The Cenote dives that you and I did Paul was the coolest dives I have experienced to date, it was like we were in another word. Words can't explain it!!!! Again your expertise and experience was extremely helpful for me as this type of a dive was a new experience for me.

Paul thank you for everything, not sure if every customer gets the same treatment we did, but I can only image that you do your best to go above and beyond or (above and below) for all of your guest's. You're a great instructor and confidant for many components of our trip not just the diving and it was a pleasure meeting you and spending time together in you little piece of paradise.

Paul/ William - Brownie & I had a great time last week. Paul - Check your e-mail for a link for the pics I got from the camera. There's some out there that I am real happy with. We are looking forward to coming back next June (don't think we'll have enough $$$ before then - this was an expensive trip!) and exploring some more. We got the e-mail confirmation from Padi today on our certificate.

puerto morelos, ojo de agua

I will be diving in Puerto Morelos January 11th but I am not sure if I can stay at the Ojo de Agua hotel. They have not replied to my emails. Can anyone let me know if the Ojo survived Wilma? Or can anyone tell me of a place to stay in P. Morelos for around the same price (40.00 to 80.00/night)? Preferably one that is still in business

Hello, My husband and I are planning a trip to Puerto Morelos in the  first week of December. He is an experienced diver and is  looking for a local dive shop with exciting dives. We are staying  at the Ceiba del Mar resort. I had 2 questions:  Can you tell me how far you are located from the Ceiba del  Mar resort? When I was staying at Desire in July of 2004, I was chatting with a guy by the name of Doug Garman, who passionately insisted that if I was to ever contemplate diving on the Mayan Riviera, there is only one person that I should dive with. He gave me the name of Paul Hensley. Well, I was unable to dive on that particular trip due to some unfortunate circumstances, but that all changed recently.

I have just returned from an Easter vacation in Puerto Morelos, and Paul Hensley was the first person I called. In fact, I called him on his cell phone from California prior to leaving, and each time it was he who answered - each time his enthusiasm for diving, and diving with him at his sites, became more and more contagious. I was not to be disappointed. Although I dived four times with him, he promised me a shark dive, and the last two are dives I shall never forget...

We dropped down to about 105 feet in a rip roaring current and were quickly delighted by the sights of large moray eels, manta rays, turtles, grouper, and thousands of small and large school fish. But it was soon with an adolescent urgency that he began to swim toward a shallow cave, where he excitedly pointed out a nurse shark at rest. He urged me to swim under the ledge and together we began to stroke the belly of this magnificent creature. Here I was, at one with my fears, caressing one of the most awesome habitants of the ocean. The remainder of the dive was filled caves, spotted eagle rays, and other exciting adventures, but my shark encounter is one I shall never forget.

It was really a stroke of good fortune that I found a dive master with such passion, a dive master who knows his game as well as he does, a dive master who is so intimately knowledgeable of his playground. He went out of his way to make sure that I had a good time. Guess what, I'm already planning my way back there. Thanks Paul, and thank you Doug.

Secondly, can you delete our first registration we made earlier this morning (MarknPeggy)? If I can delete it, please give me instructions.

Now about Bonaire in 2004, are you planning a trip? Our friends, Ken and TyAnn, are interested in going with us to Bonaire this summer. I remember reading here that you occasionally host Bonaire trips. Let us know please.

Hey did you get our annual Christmas newsletter (our AOL Hometown web site) we sent last month? There is a photo gallery of scuba diving, and you are featured in it LOL

Turks and Caicos diving

Just thought of something. Does the price, $1400, include air? What else is included in the price?

If air is not included, can you give us the name of the international airport so I can look up the prices? I checked http://www.geographia.com/turks-caicos/ (wonderful web site by the way!) and learned that there are three international airports and several small ones.
